Thing is, when you tell the seller your going to REGISTER the vehicle you bought, and need verifiable I.D. for registration... and the seller STALLS in providing ID... What part of Massachusetts is this ? , there was a story in the enterprise last year about a guy from the south shore whose sons bike was stolen out of his shed , he had placed an AirTag under the seat and tracked it to a house in Brockton , called the police and when the police showed up they walked to a detached garage in the back of the house , his bike was there along several other stolen dirt bikes and quads

I had my ktm 450 exc stolen and the cops were useless. First cop never completed the police report so if never got filed as stolen, I have a report number but it was never completed.6 years later my son found it for sale on Facebook at an impound yard. The 2 nd cops never ran the vin to contact the registered owner when impounded. Good thing for my kids so I got it back but the crack heads beat it bad.but it’s all rebuilt now. Cops are useless!

I had a similar experience with a stolen mountain bike. It wasn't at all standard, basically a bike cobbled together with non-standard parts. I explained to the (cough) 'lady' who had the bike, that the bike had been stolen two weeks before. She then claimed she bought the bike a month ago, so it wasn't my bike. As soon as she said that I knew she was lying. To cut a long story short the Police didn't prosecute her because her new story was that she had 'borrowed the bike'. She couldn't tell the Police who she had borrowed the bike from for 'fear or repercussions'.

I use air tags & multiple bike locks that take over 45 mins to cut through , I’ve had my bike stolen before & went right to the address that the air tag showed me & got it back the same day.
